GJMUN NEWSLETTER - 16/04/2026
Hello Delegates/Heads of Schools/Parents,

The countdown is on! In exactly one month—May 15th–17th, 2026—the University of Ghana, Legon, will transform into a hub of diplomacy and leadership. As we prepare for an unforgettable weekend under the theme “The Ubuntu Agenda: Redefining Global Teamwork through Responsible Leadership,” here is everything you need to know:

Start Your Research:
  • A Committee Background Guide is a comprehensive document prepared by the chairs that outlines the history, current status, and key issues of the assigned topics. Its purpose is to provide all delegates with a shared foundation of knowledge to ensure informed and productive debate.
  • Rules of Procedure are the formal regulations that govern how the debate is moderated, while the Code of Conduct establishes standards for professional and respectful behaviour. Together, they ensure the conference runs efficiently and remains a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Representing a country (rather than yourself) is essential because it forces you to step into the shoes of a global diplomat, requiring you to understand and advocate for a specific nation's unique interests and foreign policy. This shifts the focus from personal opinion to critical thinking and empathy, teaching you how to find common ground between diverse and often conflicting worldviews.
Step into the shoes of a global diplomat! Access your Committee Background Guide, Rules of Procedure, and Code of Conduct via the link below. You can also confirm your country assignment and room number here: Click here
